Poeit (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an AI-powered poetry and writing studio. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Poeit you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a display name. We use Supabase for authentication and data storage.
Content you create
Poems, drafts, version history, collections, and snippets you write are stored in your account so they sync across your devices.
AI interactions
When you use AI writing tools or the chat feature, your prompts and poem content are sent to our backend and to third-party AI model providers to generate responses. We do not use your creative content to train AI models.
Voice and microphone
The Dictation tool uses on-device speech recognition. Audio is processed locally and is not sent to our servers.
Usage data
We collect basic usage statistics such as writing session length and feature usage to improve the app. This data is not linked to identifiable individuals.
Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and sync your writing across devices
- To power AI writing tools and suggestions
- To manage your account and subscription
- To send essential account emails (e.g. sign-in links, billing receipts)
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
We do not sell your personal information or creative content to third parties.
3. Sharing Your Information
We share data only as needed to operate the service:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- AI model providers — to generate AI writing responses (your content is sent only to fulfill your request)
- Payment processor — to handle subscription billing
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Public Content
Poems you choose to publish are visible to other Poeit users. You control this — poems are private by default. You can unpublish a poem at any time from the editor.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your poems, profile, and personal data are deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted local storage, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Poeit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@poeit.app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
